There are many bones in your body.In fact there are 206 of them. Bones in the body are also known as the skeletal system. For your information it holds up your whole entire body. Just think, your skeletal system is like the structure of your body. The skeletal system is a very important part of your body. It protects many major organs. For example the rib cage protects the heart and lungs. That is why your heart
don't get squished when you fall on you stomach.

Well known bones

As I said before there are many bones in the body, about 206 of them.
A few of the well known bones include the rib cage, skull, pelvis, femur
and fibula.You may know a few of those. These are many bones that your body needs to function.

System functions

Did you know that the skeletol system interacts with other systems in the body? The circulatory system works with the skletol system by giving nutrients. The blood vessels carry the food to the skeletol system. Teeth are bones. They play a big role in the digestive system. They crush the food that you put in your mouth. If these systems did not work together then your body would not function properly


Just like other systems in the body, the skeletal system can get sick. Not like the flu or strep throat it can get permanent diseases like scoliosis. Scoliosis is a bone disease where your spine or backbone is shaped into the letter C or S.( see image below ) Scoliosis is a disorder that can develop at any age in childhood.

The disorders of the human skeletal system can be resolved by following these tips.One, a healthy diet will help boost your calcium levels This is the key to healthy and strong bones. A few good calcium filled foods are milk, tofu, almonds, sardines and yogurt. Another tip for keeping your bones healthy and strong is to have a good daily exercise.even though you may think that exercise is for other body systems, but it is actualy very important that the skeletal system gets plenty of exercise.
